Editor’s Note: Lifelong Learning For ECPs

Think of INVISION as a master class in the eyecare biz

No matter what our age, September feels fresh and new. We never outgrow the excitement of seeing friends we missed over the summer, meeting our teachers, getting a few new outfits …

If you have young children, you may be a bit relieved to have your family return to its school-year routine. But even if your kids are all grown (my “baby” turned 21 this summer!), that back-to-school vibe certainly doesn’t go away, particularly if you own an eyecare or eyewear business. We hope you’ve been hopping these past few weeks: your appointment books jam-packed with exams, your cool new kids’ eyewear flying out the door, college students emailing for annual supplies of their contact lenses (or at least enough to tide them over until Thanksgiving).

This season also offers an annual reminder that we never stop learning. Whether it’s picking up a few continuing education credits at Vision Expo West, or enrolling your staff in CE back home, or maybe even signing up for an evening business class at your local college, it’s as smart to keep your skills sharp today as it was to arrive at school with everything on the year’s supply list.

INVISION is in the education business, too. Ten times each year — and totally for free — you get a ton of business-building ideas from your colleagues around the country, as well as advice from top business gurus from beyond vision care. (Remember: Even though INVISION costs nothing, you must renew your subscription once a year. Do that at
invisionmag.com/magazine.)

Want even more INVISION? Sign up at invisionmag.com/bulletins and you’ll get a tip of the day, industry news, website extras and more. Unlike that 8 a.m. chemistry class you had in school, this is something you’ll actually welcome each weekday morning.

So welcome fall, and here’s to the spirit of lifelong learning. INVISION will even save you a seat with the cool kids in the cafeteria. (Hint: You can join them at invisionmag.com/brain-squad.)

Wishing you the best in business,
