Editor’s Note: You Make INVISION a Winner

Seriously, we couldn’t do this without our Brain Squad

We got some happy news as we went to press on this issue: In just our second year, INVISION is a finalist for a second FOLIO: award, which are sort of like the Oscars of the magazine world. Our February 2015 Big Story on the best in classic and recent business books, “The Year of Reading Seriously,” is a finalist for Best Single Article for the “Eddie” editorial awards that’ll be given out this fall. We won the “Ozzie” gold for best new magazine design a year ago in the same competition.

If you missed “The Year of Reading Seriously,” you can check out the article at invmag.us/reading. Being a finalist for this article is especially cool because it’s a reminder of why INVISION is different from any other optical industry magazine. A few months before “The Year of Reading Seriously,” we asked our Brain Squad members to nominate their favorite business books — and then we asked three of you to write guest reviews that we included in the article.

Of course, we do this sort of crowdsourcing for every issue of INVISION. From the Hot Sellers to Tip Sheet, from Do You or Don’t You to One Quick Question to Benchmarks, our Brain Squad lets us know what American ECPs are really thinking about and the cool ideas you’ve come up with, too.

So if you’re an owner or top manager at a U.S. eyecare practice or optical shop and you haven’t yet joined our Brain Squad, we hope you will sign up soon. (You can do it right now at invisionmag.com/brain-squad.) Then don’t forget to look for the Brain Squad survey that hits your email around the first weekday of each month. Being in the Brain Squad is the surest way to get our attention and get your business into INVISION, plus you also gain access to lots of data that never makes it into the magazine (and even a free Eye Geek T-shirt). The more ECPs we have taking part in the Brain Squad, the more useful advice we can bring you each issue.

Wishing you the best in business,
