Fashion Powerhouse Kering Aiming for the Top in Eyewear

First lines produced in-house debut in Venice.

Kering Eyewear, the in-house company created to service such brands as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, has been launched with the goal of becoming “the world leader in luxury and high end eyewear,” according to multiple news reports. Kering – the French-based fashion powerhouse that also includes Balenciaga and Boucheron among its holdings – last year terminated its licensing arrangements and took over design and production of its various brands. The first lines under the new system debuted last week in Venice.
