Kim Schuy, President of Essilor Vision Foundation

(Press Release)
DALLAS – The Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF), a vision advocacy nonprofit, has announced the appointment of Kim Schuy as its president. She will replace Stephen Shawler, who has accepted a new role as vice president of ECP training and insights in the Customer Development Group at Essilor of America.

“Over the last four years Stephen has worked tirelessly to increase access to vision services and afford people across the country access to better sight,” said Bob Colucci, chairman of the Essilor Vision Foundation. “As we look to the future of the organization, we know Kim will bring her unique energy tapping into her experience of brand building and collaboration.”

In her new role as president, Kim will lead EVF’s 2016 efforts to expand its services by providing more than 275,000 vision screenings and more than 115,000 pairs of glasses to individuals across the U.S. In addition, EVF is planning to expand the Kids Vision for Life programs nationwide, growing in areas where there is the most need. Kids Vision for Life, EVF’s community-based program, launched in 2008 and works in schools to provide vision screenings, eye exams and prescription glasses to students in need.

In 2015, EVF celebrated its seventh anniversary, marking the occasion by impacting more than 250,000 individuals in need of vision care across the nation including distributing more than 110,000 pairs of eyeglasses —growing from less than 10,000 pairs in 2011. As president, Kim will lead the EVF’s efforts to further grow the influence of the foundation’s contributions to vision correction.

Kim joined Essilor in February of 2005 as the Varilux brand manager for EOA marketing. She was most recently named the vice president of global marketing, sunwear, leading the innovation pipeline, while developing branding and product portfolio strategies to increase regional growth efforts. Kim brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise in the optical industry, and holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in marketing, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
