PECAA Names Jonathan Worrall President

(PRESS RELEASE) BOCA RATON, FL — Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA) announced it has appointed Jonathan Worrall as president. Worrall will officially assume the position in January 2023, succeeding Jim McGrann, PECAA’s outgoing chairman and CEO.

“PECAA has been driven for more than 15 years by a mission to protect and promote independent eye care,” said Lance Anderson, OD, PECAA co-founder and chief strategy officer. “The PECAA leadership team is incredibly confident in Jonathan’s ability to lead the organization and deliver on our mission during a time of unprecedented change in the industry. Fundamentally, Jonathan shares the PECAA philosophy that the voice of the doctor must always guide our direction so we continue to provide unmatched support and resources to independent eye care professionals.”

Serving more than 12,000 members, PECAA is the nation’s largest community of independent eye care professionals. Since 2006, PECAA has delivered member-focused business services, group buying power to reduce costs, and a community of peers offering a network of support.

“I have known and worked with Jonathan for many years. Not only is he an exceptional leader, but he also comes with the right experience and background for this role and embodies the qualities that have made PECAA so special over the years,” said Jamie Hughes, PECAA chief operating officer. “I look forward to him guiding the PECAA team through this transition and ensuring we maximize value for PECAA Members. We could not be in better hands.”

With more than twenty years of experience, Worrall joins the PECAA leadership team from VSP Vision™, which acquired PECAA in September, expanding its commitment to and investment in independent eye care professionals. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of VSP’s provider network. Prior to joining VSP Vision in 2015, Worrall held several senior leadership roles with Safeway, including vice president of merchandising and marketing where he managed vendor relationships for the grocery leader.

“It’s an honor to help lead PECAA, and together with the existing leadership team, further the organization’s promise to help today’s independent eye care professional connect, build, and prosper within their practice,” said Worrall. “As we build on PECAA’s legacy of service to our IECP members, we are committed to responding to their feedback and unique needs to deliver unmatched value, support, and opportunity.”
