Screen Usage Factor in Rising Dry Eye

The latest National Eye C.A.R.E. (Current Attitudes Related to Eye Health) Survey found that 89 percent of ECPs believe everyday use of digital screens is responsible for a rise in dry eye disease. While women 50 and over are still most likely to be affected, ECPs report that use of modern technology is increasing the rate of dry eye disease in younger adults. The study also found that many adults with key symptoms typically wait two years from onset to seek medical advice. The survey, conducted by Harris Poll in July 2015 for Shire, included more than 1,000 ECPs, and over 1,200 U.S. adults who had used artificial tears within the past month. info: myeyelove-ecp.com
