See Ya, 2017; Here’s Looking at You 2018!

DON’T LET THE DOOR hit ya on the way out 2017, am I right? It was a weird year and I am happy to bid it adieu. Of course, the entire year wasn’t a total garbage fire, some very good things happened and we’re definitely building on those over the next 12 months.

Starting with a few changes around here … We’re not believers of the whole “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality so even though the magazine was looking pretty great, we thought we’d tweak it a little to make it even better. We got rid of some features that never really found their footing, and added more of what makes us so great … you!

Our new Buzz Session section (pg. 68) will highlight more of the wisdom and humor of our Brain Squad every month. If you’re an owner or manager of an eyecare business and aren’t a member, you really should sign up: invmag.us/brainsquad.

Speaking of buzz, “self-care” was a buzzy catch phrase last year and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. To that end, we’ve made Sanity Files a monthly thing. Now, in every issue, the last page of the magazine will feature ECPs and how they stay sane in this crazy industry.

We’ve combined our popular Manager’s To-Do List with the Calendar all on one page so you’ll have an easy, one-stop-shop for your monthly planning. But we’re kicking off the year with a bang thanks to our Big Story, The Ultimate Calendar on page 38. Get a jump start on your events, social media postings and staff training agenda in one handy feature.

Lastly, if it’s January then it must be time for another round of America’s Finest Optical Retailer entries! That’s right. The application period has opened and we’re ready for you. Did you open a new store, renovate your practice or just generally take your business to the next level? Then this could be your year! Enter here: americasfinestopticalretailers.com. Bring it 2018!

Best wishes for your business,
