These Sunglasses Can Do Something You’d Seriously Never Expect

Visa is developing the idea.

If Visa has its way, you might someday buy things using sunglasses.

The company is developing is payment-enabled sunwear, KTRK-TV reports. A prototype debuted at the the South by Southwest Festival in Texas.

According to the news outlet: “To pay, a person takes off the glasses and taps them on a Visa near field communication (NFC) enabled terminal. No card swiping required.”

The sunglasses look more or less like any other pair.

Visa is currently investigating whether the public would be interested in the product. It let a few dozen “partners and influencers” try them out at South by Southwest, KTRK reports.
