Valley Contax Offers Scleral Lens Workshops

The sessions are free.

(Press Release) SPRINGFIELD, OR – Valley Contax, a custom contact lens manufacturer, has developed an ongoing scleral lens workshop titled Custom Stable Fridays. These one-day events utilize Valley Contax’s scleral lens, the Custom Stable, and are held every two months at their location in Springfield, OR. Attendance is limited to 10 practitioners per session to ensure an intimate setting.

Attendees begin the day with a tour of the manufacturing facilities where they’ll learn how the Custom Stable is made, going from input parameters to finished product. Next, lunch is served while the design, theory and fitting principals of the lens are presented. After lunch practitioners utilize Custom Stable Elite fitting kits to fit each other and send their lens orders to the lab. Once the lenses have been made attendees troubleshoot and finalize their fits and the workshop wraps up with a Q&A.

Josh Adams, vice president of Valley Contax and lead lens designer, said, “We are consistently getting requests from fitters asking us to provide hands-on training. In response, we developed these workshops to help first time fitters gain the confidence they need to get up and running while also allowing experienced fitters to hone their skills.”

Practitioners can learn more about Custom Stable Friday workshops by visiting the Valley Contax website at valleycontax.com.
