Amazon Developing Smart Glasses to Connect with Alexa: Report

They could hit the market this year.

Amazon might enter the wearables market with a pair of eyeglasses capable of connecting with Alexa, the Financial Times reports.

It’s possible the glasses will launch this year, according to the newspaper, which cited unnamed sources.

Users would not need to wear earphones to hear the voice of Alexa, Amazon’s popular virtual-assistant. Instead the glasses would use bone-conduction technology.

The design would mimic normal eyewear so the glasses could be worn “comfortably and unobtrusively,” according to the Times.

Amazon has not commented on the report.

Amazon is also said to be working on a home security camera, the Times reports.
