Deciding How to Treat Her Patients and Staff Tops This Tennessee OD’s List of Favorites

“I really love that I get to decide how I want to treat my patients/clients and team members,” Dr. Amber Fritsch relays as one of her favorite things about running her business. She also appreciates the constant challenge to learn more and do more to grow her business … “No one wants to do the same thing every day, right? There are always new clinical and business skills to master.” She also enjoys picking out new, bold eyewear… frequently! Of course, it’s not all perks. One difficulty this introvert doesn’t like facing is dealing with unreasonable people. “I’m a logical person and it’s difficult for me to have to manage a situation where someone doesn’t want to communicate in a calm, rational way.” When trying people get to be too much, out come the hooks and yarn. “I’ve been crocheting for about 20 years and usually do that at night to wind down. I also read or listen to audiobooks constantly and music and dancing also quickly relieve stress and tension for me. I’ve been known to ‘stress bake,’ which my family appreciates, and hugs and kisses from them are the best.”
