For Dr. Siobhan Beeksma There Is Little Some Travel, Nature and Time With Family Can’t Fix

Siobhan Beeksma, OD
Espy Specs, Eau Claire, WI

When you no longer enjoy what you’re doing, stop doing it. Luckily, that hasn’t been an issue for Dr. Siobhan Beeksma since opening her own practice. “After 20 years of being an optometrist, it has been fun to have a new challenge learning the business part,” she says. It helps that she and her team are regularly impressing patients with their frame selection and exam equipment. But despite her love of the relationships she’s formed with patients and staff, running her own business brings challenges; like worrying about finding an optometrist to join them, remakes and always having one more thing to do. Luckily, it’s nothing a little travel, nature, or family can’t fix. “A the end of the day, my family sits down for dinner and then I walk the river trails near home to unwind. My family keeps me centered.”
