We always do well with Maui Jim. However, our Etnia Barcelona sunglasses have been incredible. I think it’s their use of color: It’s fearless, yet so easy to wear. Also, with mirrored lenses being a hot commodity, Etnia has really been what we’re reaching for lately. Margot Lanham, Ulla Eyewear, Madison, WI

For men, the Oakley Sliver sold great in August. Great color combos and a keyhole nose are a hit. For women, Costa’s KC is taking off as a smaller version of the already successful South Point. Dr. Blake Hutto, Family Vision Care, Alma, GA

Sunwear has never been a large part of our practice revenue, but what has caught on is the Chemistrie Sunclips. Patients love them for their versatility and ease of use. They also love the wide variety of color choices and the fact that getting one clip opens up the option for additional clips for different uses such as a 3-D clip for the movie enthusiast or a clip with Chemistrie Blue to help block HEV when on their hand-held devices. Angela White, Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic, Denham Springs, LA

Modo is flying off the shelves. Patients love the bright colors and light feel of the frames. In sunglasses, Smith. Patients love the ChromaPop lenses! Dr. Selina McGee, Precision Vision, Midwest City, OK

Big plastic frames are still selling like crazy! Sandy Freise, The Optical Shop, St. Charles, MO

Chunky frames are still strong with the younger, hipster crowd. In sunglasses, Celine, Fendi and Dior fly off the shelves. Celebrities like Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner are going for looks that are timeless and trendy. Metal rimmed frames in funky aviator-inspired shapes are bringing a new inspiration for sunwear, and light designs that keep marks off the nose are going strong here in L.A. Robyn Janz, Dan Deutsch Optical Outlook, Los Angeles, CA

Nike flew off the shelves this month. We had lots of back-to-school kids. In sunglasses, Jimmy Choo, Bobbi Brown and Nike did very well. It seems like more people in our area are realizing the value of good sunwear. Deb Wood, Wood Vision Clinic, Iowa City, IA
