Prevent Blindness Partners with Philadelphia Eagles Charitable Foundation on Nurse Training

260 nurses were trained.

Prevent Blindness announced a partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles Charitable Foundation for its 7th annual School Nurse Professional Development Meeting.

Sponsored by the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, 260 nurses from Philadelphia were trained and certified by Prevent Blindness, the nation’s oldest non-profit eye health and safety organization, to administer vision screenings to students.
The event took place Sept. 1 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Nurses rotated as a group through various skills assessment sessions and received in-depth training to certify them as vision screeners.

Upon completion of both an online educational module and an in-person skill assessment, each nurse receives a national vision screening certification valid for three years.
