Senator Pushes For Change To FTC’s “Eyeglass Rule”

Lots of you are really not going to like this one.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (NY-Dem) is pushing for new federal rules to require practitioners to give patients a full copy of their eyeglass prescriptions so they can shop around instore and online for the best prices. Currently, because eye doctors aren’t required to give patients a full copy of their eyeglass prescription “You’re stuck,” says Schumer. “And if you were given the prescription, you could go online. You could go to another store, and the price would go way down.”
