Thieves Use Sledgehammer to Break Into Optometry Office

Burglars used a sledgehammer to break into an optometry office in Los Angeles, police say.

They broke the front window at Runway Optometry in the Playa Vista neighborhood at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, CBSLA reports.

A surveillance video showed two male suspects, one of whom was wearing a mask.

They ransacked the store and made off with “thousands of dollars worth” of eyewear, according to the report. That amounted to most of the merchandise in the shop.
