Warby Parker Adds ‘Virtual Try-On’ Option to Its App

Warby Parker has added a “virtual try-on” feature to its iPhone app.

It allows users to see what frames would look like on them using augmented reality, Wired reports.

The system relies on Apple’s face-mapping technology. It uses the iPhone’s front-facing camera.

Wired reports that the feature gives you a preview in “impressive detail.”

The feature has been a long time in the making.

“We’ve been patiently waiting for technology to catch up with our vision for what that experience could look like,” said Warby Parker CEO Dave Gilboa, according to Wired.

Warby Parker also offers a mail-order service in which customers can receive five frames to try for free before making a purchase.
