14 Sad-But-True Things Patients Actually Said to Their Eye Doctors

This article originally appeared in June 2017.

IF YOU STICK AROUND an ECP’s office long enough, you hear some pretty funny things.

Sometimes patients crack genuinely hilarious jokes. Other times they’re not joking at all, but you still can’t help but smile … at least on the inside.

And then there are the times you have to laugh because otherwise, you’d probably be crying or screaming.

It’s all in a day’s work.

The Instagram account Overheard Optometry provides “a daily narration of what we hear (or see) in eye care.” Check it out and you’ll probably see some comments that you’ve heard almost verbatim in your own business.

Here are a few of our favorite posts.
