The typically unique lens cloths at Gogosha Optique in Los Angeles, CA are real conversation starters.

As part of a recent rebrand at McCulley Optix Gallery in Fargo, ND, office manager Jenna Gilbertson came up with a general idea for some new cloths. “We really wanted to go towards a more lux look, and we felt like the simple marble background with the big black logo did it. Plus, we wanted them to be neutral, since when we had highly colored cloths in the past they bled into peoples’ cases and frames.”

At SOMA Optical in Boston, MA, which he co-owns with his wife Alissa, Christos Karabelas handles all the graphic design himself. The store’s very cool lens cloths offer a standout example of his talents.

“I like to play with psychedelic imagery; there’s something fun about twisting the concept of vision away from the literal interpretation usually associated with optical and viewing it through the lens of psychedelia,” says Christos Karabelas, co-owner of SOMA Optical in Boston, MA, of the lens cloths he designs. “I like to keep things light and playful.”

We’re not totally sure what eyewear he’s rocking there, but we’re getting a “Road Warrior” vibe. And Dr. Dave Schultz, owner of Urban Optics in San Luis Obispo, CA, has got more where this one came from. The folks at Urban Optics tell us “unusual photos of Dr. Dave” grace a number of the practice’s lens cloths.
