A People-Loving Optician Who Runs a Legacy Business and Relies on Routine to Conquer Anything That Comes His Way

A familiar face to many, it should come as no surprise that Daniel Brunson’s favorite part of his job is the people. “I love interacting with our clients and our vendors. I have formed some great relationships over the years. I love talking with them, but more importantly, I love listening because I can learn so much that way,” he says. But managing a nearly 70-year-old business can be taxing. Luckily, he is also a fan of routines. “If I’ve had a stressful day, I like to watch Seinfeld for the comic relief. I avoid the news, and instead read fiction to put my mind in a good state before bed. Good sleep is important to me. I also like to rise early enough to read inspirational non-fiction or journal. Then hitting the gym is non-negotiable. When I start my day like that then I figure I can conquer anything that may come later.”
