Bionic Lenses Slammed as “Suspect” and a “Scam”

Promise of an end to eyeglasses briefly lit up the news cycle.

That “bionic” lens that lit up the weekend news cycle, with reports in Time and on CBS News of the Canadian inventor who promised an end to eyeglasses, is now being slammed by medical professionals and others as “suspect” at best and, at worst, “the latest version of the old Ponce de Leon scam.” A writer for the Daily Beast says the lenses are “the Brad and Kim and Kanye of healthcare, living outside of reality to mildly entertain and distract everyone.”
