(PRESS RELEASE) With six months to go until World Sight Day, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) announced that they will build on the successes of last year’s public engagement campaign on eye health and continue with the theme of #LoveYourEyes. All Posts
Last year’s campaign saw the sector come together under the banner of Love Your Eyes, a global campaign to call on everyone to focus on their own eye health whilst highlighting the issues facing over a billion people worldwide.
World Sight Day 2021 saw over 3.5 million eye test pledges made by individuals, eye care professionals, hospitals, NGOs and businesses and this year’s campaign will continue that great work by attempting to engage even more members of the public. IAPB aims to get over 5 million sight tests pledged for World Sight Day 2022.
More information on activations that will amplify this year’s campaign will be made available in coming weeks and IAPB wants to unite the sector with the continued #LoveYourEyes campaign.
Commenting on the announcement, Peter Holland, CEO of IAPB said “The success of last year’s World Sight Day and the Love Your Eyes campaign was unparalleled and showed the true power of what can be achieved when the sector comes together. This year we will continue to build and put more resources behind World Sight Day as a global moment in time to remind us all to #LoveYourEyes. We look forward to working with the eye health sector and members of the public to spread that message far and wide.”
