“Overall, I love what I do, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Owning my own business is a dream come true and it has been amazing to watch it fly,” says Kyla Skinner. She owes much of that love to walking in the door everyday of a space she created and the fact that her customers “tell me they are stopped constantly on the street and asked where they got their glasses.” She is never bored and loves building people’s confidence with their eyewear. On the flipside, she struggles with not being able to truly take time off. Her only other complaints about ownership are taxes and accounting, “Blech.” Unwinding is tough as she goes home to a hungry family and dogs, dishes and homework, but she is slowly learning how to relax. “I did a 30-day yoga challenge in February and that was perfect for turning my brain to quiet mode at the end of busy days.”
