You know you’ve found your calling when the things you love about your career are double the things you don’t love. That’s exactly the case with Dr. Sohini Patel. When asked her top three favorite things about running her business, she included four. And asked her three least favorite… she only managed two. The things that have her heart? Her amazing team (shout out to Annette and Dina!), frame fashion and selection — “I love the optical side of the business!” — the fact that working for herself makes it easier to manage work/ life balance, and spending time getting to know her patients and their families. But even her least favorite are 100% relatable: Paying bills (“Ugh!”) and “finding the perfect balance between patient happiness and business profitability.” When those money woes start to weigh she cuddles with her kids, eats a yummy meal in front of the TV and sleeps … “I love to sleep!” Big same Dr. Patel. Big same.
