Bertrand Roy, who served in various roles within Essilor Group, has died.

He was 67.
Essilor Group wrote on LinkedIn: “Over three decades, Bertrand contributed significantly to the development of the Group, notably at the helm of Transitions Optical, Essilor France, Europe, as well as leading strategic partnerships. He will always be remembered for his unique charisma, energy, passion and commitment.
“There are no words to express how much he will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
Roy retired in 2015, according to the French-language website Acuité.

Silmo Paris, where Roy served as vice president, stated on LinkedIn that he was “a man of conviction, leader, visionary, charismatic, Bertrand has always worked for the success of SILMO with his energy and talent.”
“Amélie Morel, President of SILMO and the entire Board of Directors offer their deepest condolences to his wife, children and loved ones,” the organization continued.
