True Tales

Merry Christmas to All … Except this Customer from Hell

THE PATIENT FROM HELL ordered a pair of Rx sunglasses with a mirror coat as a Christmas gift for her son over voicemail. I called her back and left a message that I needed half down to complete the order. I left three more messages that week and she never called back. Then a week and a half later, she called to see if they were in. I explained about the messages and needing the deposit to order them and she started screaming at me that she needed them for a family ski trip over Christmas. Not my fault but I got the deposit and put a super rush on the glasses. I got them in five days before Christmas and called her. She said she would be right over but didn’t show up. On Christmas Eve we closed at 2:00pm; at 1:55 she called to say she had totally forgotten the glasses and would be right over. She arrived at 3:15. Merry Christmas. — Kathy Maren, Combs Eyecare & Eyewear, Western Springs, IL
