LOUIS, MO — For the first time ever, PERC, an industry alliance of more than 6,500 independent eye care practice owners, hosted members at its inaugural PERC Elevate National Conference earlier this month. The Elevate National Conference drew more than 300 enthusiastic attendees and sponsors to the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa in Dana Point, California.
The PERC Elevate National Conference was a full-day event held August 15, packed with five hours of CE for optometrists, a four-hour CE course track for staff, vendor exhibits, and exceptional guest speakers.
“PERC’s member community is the backbone of our organization and engaged members are the reason we can continue providing top-notch resources to the independent eye care community,” said Dr. Jason Lake, PERC general manager. “It was powerful to see hundreds of PERC members from all over the country come together at PERC Elevate to learn, share ideas and have fun.”
As an alliance designed to ensure member practices greatly improve their bottom line by harnessing collective buying power to negotiate advantageous terms with vendors, PERC was particularly proud to assemble a robust exhibit hall for the first Elevate conference with top vendors offering exclusive specials to attendees to further enhance the value of their PERC membership.
In addition to the August 15 event, PERC held an exclusive, invite-only workshop for nominated members in the days leading up to the national conference.
“We designed the event to focus on personal growth, business excellence, and collaboration,” said Dr. Jeffry Gerson, PERC Professional Education Advisor. “We had an amazing line up of speakers including three inspiring keynote presentations by a former Olympic athlete, a nationally recognized author and business coach, and a fellow optometrist dedicated to giving back and making a difference.”

The packed program also offered unique experiences including a reception overlooking the beautiful Dana Point Harbor, a beachside bonfire, and group workout events.
“Between the venue, the speakers, the education and the great group of doctors, “My team and I came away from the weekend energized and inspired,” said Dr. Tania Sobchuk of Lake Havasu Family Eyecare.
Planning is underway for the second annual PERC Elevate National Conference in 2022.
