(PRESS RELEASE) ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Vision Council and RX, the organizers of Vision Expo, announce NOW by Vision Expo, a new eyewear trends showcase that will debut at Vision Expo East 2022, taking place March 31–April 3 in New York City, and will spotlight eyewear trends that are shaping the direction of the industry in a dynamic, design-centric space.
Located in The Park, Vision Expo East’s neighborhood for industry icons, ubiquitous brands and prestigious collections, NOW by Vision Expo will showcase several different curated selections of eyewear that embody the industry’s most vibrant trends. For its inaugural launch at Vision Expo East, NOW by Vision Expo will feature eyewear from companies exhibiting in The Atelier, The Springs, The Park and The Union. An application is required to be considered for inclusion in NOW by Vision Expo, and final products will be selected by an advisory committee of industry leaders. The intent of the program is to expand beyond eyewear at future Shows to also showcase products, technology and equipment.
“Ahead of Vision Expo’s highly anticipated return to New York City this spring, this is the perfect moment to launch a new Show concept dedicated to the industry’s most influential trends,” said Fran Pennella, vice president, Vision Expo at RX. “Ideally situated in The Park, NOW by Vision Expo will celebrate the industry’s most exciting designs and innovations in an energetic atmosphere tailored to making connections, finding inspiration and networking.”
All exhibitors in The Atelier, The Springs, The Park and The Union are invited to submit one frame per company, optical or sunglasses, that they feel best represents one of the themes for this year’s show. For its inaugural launch at Vision Expo East 2022, the themes on display include:
- Sustainability
- Fashion Post-Pandemic: Statement Pieces/Larger than Life
- Diversity and Inclusion through Eyewear
- Craftsmanship + Technology and Innovations through Details
Vision Expo’s NOW by Vision Expo project was conceptualized by Nico Roseillier, creative director of Europa / State Optical Co. / American Optical, in partnership with NOW by Vision Expo advisory committee members including:

Companies exhibiting in The Atelier, The Springs, The Park or The Union are eligible to participate in NOW by Vision Expo free of charge. Interested exhibitors are asked to submit company name, brand name, collection name, product name, booth number, contact information and the theme that aligns with their product submission here by Friday, February 25.
Vision Expo East 2022 will take place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City from March 31–April 3, 2022. The Show’s educational program, together with OptiCon@Vision Expo, will open Thursday, March 31 and the Exhibit Hall will open Friday, April 1. To register, click here.
