The Vision Council Releases Q3 Report on Consumers and Eyecare

Results remain mostly consistent with previous findings from Q1, Q2 of 2023.

The Vision Council recently disclosed the results of its latest research report, Consumer Insights Q3 2023.

The data gathered on U.S. consumers and how they regard eyecare largely reflects results from previous reports derived in Q1 and Q2 of this year.

–40% of respondents reported having an eye exam a year ago.

–1 in 3 respondents reported that their most recent eye exam took place more than a year ago.

–Younger generations (Gen Z and Millennials) reported less frequent eye exams than older respondents (Gen X and Boomers).

However, annual eye exams dropped for Gen Z (7 percent) and Millennials (9 percent) in Q3 when compared to Q1.

“Seventy-nine percent of our respondents relying on some form of vision correction underlines the importance for people everywhere to prioritize an annual eye exam,” says Alysse Henkel, Senior Director of Market Research and Analytics a The Vision Council.
