Attendees head into the San Diego Automotive Museum on Monday, July 24 on a picture-perfect sunny SoCal day.

The San Diego Automobile Museum was established in 1988. It is located in the city’s famous Balboa Park.

Friend of INVISION Magazine Dr. Jenn Chinn took time out of her busy day for the three-hour event.

Attendees mingled before the presentation started, sampling from an assortment of edibles and drinkables on offer.

Of course, there were plenty of  classic cars on display inside the museum.

Attendees traveled in from across the nation to see the presentation.

Shamir employees complete a few last-minute adjustments before the presentation got underway.

About 100 eyecare professionals were on hand.

(Not all of them squeezed in together to make this shot.)

Raanan Naftalovich, the President of Shamir North America, kicked off the presentation.

Dr. Gary Gerber, a co-founder of Treehouse Eyes and a collaborator on the project, then took the stage and spoke about advancements in technology.

One of his most salient points was: “A modern car needs a modern pair of glasses. These lenses were made specifically for driving.”

Professional race car driver Sébastien Bourdais, left, shared his driving experiences and professional opinion with the assembled crowd.

Joining him on the presentation stage was Shamir Insight Vice President of Marketing Phillip Pasit.

Sébastien Bourdais impressed the crowd during a video presentation that showed the types of intense light interference race car drivers have to deal with.

Bourdais, 44, is a four-time U.S. Champ Car circuit champion. He currently drives for Cadillac Racing,

Shamir National Sales Director Terry Wilcox then went over some of the main research findings and data points that emerged from the years-long project.

As part of their research, the Shamir team conducted an online survey of drivers to learn what matters most to people when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Wilcox concluded his portion of the presentation with three takeaways the Shamir team hoped to impart to the assembled throng.

Driver Intelligence is:

–Tailored for modern driving.

–Artificial intelligence-based design

–Day & Night innovation

After the presentation, attendees were encouraged to try their hand at a racing simulator.

Here bodybuilder Eddie Bracamontes takes his turn behind the wheel.

Bracamontes starred in a testimonial video about the advantages of Shamir’s Diver Intelligence.

Attendees could visit the second floor of the museum where Shamir team members fitted them for gifted set of Driver Intelligence eyewear.

Sébastien Bourdais stuck around to chat with eyecare professionals, sign autographs, and pose for pictures.

They certainly don’t make race cars like they used to.

This model is a 1932 Morgan Super Sports.

And to think that two drivers fit in this thing!

Every day automobiles certainly have come a long way, too.

However, there wasn’t any glaring dashboard light to deal with inside this 1913 Cadillac Model 30.

Where we’re going, we don’t need outdated eyewear.

San Diego’s Balboa Park is so choice. If you have the means, we highly recommend going for a visit.
