Frameri lets wearers switch lenses between frames.
Interchangeable eyewear startup Frameri – which makes glasses that allow the wearer to pop the lenses out and insert them into other frames – has inked a deal that will soon put the brand in 500 independent eyeglass retailers across the country, Entrepreneur writes. That must feel like sweet victory for the young company, as the article explains how it had tremendous difficulty finding a manufacturing partner. “People kept telling us no,” founder Konrad Billetz told the magazine. “I would say at least 10 factories said, ‘we can’t do it.’ Or didn’t want to work with us.” Frameri did eventually find a willing partner, a small Italian factory in the Swiss Alps.
Frameri, the article adds, employs 15 people, all of whom work out of one storefront in Cincinnati, OH.
