(PRESS RELEASE) RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – VSP Ventures announced the acquisition of Redhawk Vision Center in Temecula, CA. The practice was founded in 1999 by husband-and-wife doctors of optometry Donny Broyles, OD, and Sonya Hooks-Broyles, OD.

“Providing comprehensive eye care to our patients has always been our passion, and we wanted to find a partner that aligned with that while supporting our transition out of the day-to-day management of the business,” said Broyles. “VSP Ventures was a great match for our practice, offering the right support and tools that allow us to do what we do best – deliver great patient care.”

The practice includes a focus on co-managing refractive surgery patients as well as offering specialty contact lenses for patients with corneal irregularities. Hooks-Broyles is a graduate of New England College of Optometry and Broyles received his doctor of optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association and National Optometric Association.

“The Redhawk Vision Center team is highly regarded for their focus on comprehensive patient care and we’re honored that they have selected us to partner with,” said Steve Baker, president of VSP Ventures. “We continue to see great interest from doctors who are looking to transition their practice with a partner like VSP Ventures, who shares their care-focused values.”

Redhawk Vision Center will continue to operate under its existing name. All doctors and practice staff will remain in their roles.

“Partnering with VSP Ventures gives us an opportunity to build upon the strong foundation that we’ve set up for the past two decades,” said Hooks-Broyles. “Together, we’re poised to meet the growing eye care needs of our patients for many more years.”
