(PRESS RELEASE) The sustainable agriculture non-profit Trees for the Future has announced that it has planted more than 200 million trees around the world. Tens of thousands of farmers planted the trees on the own land over the last three decades in conjunction with Trees’ agroforestry training. The milestone was met with support from thousands of individual donors and more than 300 brand partners, including Eco. So far, Eco has helped Trees for the Future plant over 2.4 million trees — and that number just keeps growing.
“We are ecstatic to reach this milestone, it’s a memorable step in our mission to create a more sustainable food system while planting trees. We could not have done this without the hard work and determination of the farmers we serve, the talent and dedication of our global staff, and the unending generosity of our partners and supporters like Eco.” — Trees Executive Director John Leary Trees for the Future is a non-profit organization that is ending poverty and improving the environment by teaching farmers how to grow food more sustainably. Trees will celebrate its 32nd anniversary this year and is expanding into more countries in the coming months. Learn more about their work at
trees.org. At Eco, we create new eyewear concepts using sustainable materials and plant a tree for each frame purchased. Together with Trees for the Future, our One Frame, One Tree program has planted over 2.4 million trees. Making a difference starts with making better choices, and that’s why we made it our mission to use 95% recycled metal and castor seed oil in our frames. And last but not least – all of our cases and packaging are of course made from sustainable materials like cornstarch and PET. “We have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than how we found it. Together with Trees for the Future, One Frame, One Tree is making a positive impact not only on the environment, but for the people.” — Alessandro Lanaro, CEO MODO
