LOUIS, MISSOURI — The American Optometric Association (AOA) announces Optometry’s Meeting keynote speaker, Tom Lawry, a leading AI transformation advisor and former Microsoft Executive. The presentation is slated to kick off the event during the AOA Experience: Opening Session, supported by Johnson & Johnson Vision, followed by an all-new opening reception in the Eye Care Square exhibit hall.

As a former Microsoft executive who served as National Director for AI for Health and Life Sciences, Tom Lawry is familiar with AI’s impact on healthcare. Lawry’s keynote presentation will explore the role AI can play in healthcare, specifically in the eye and vision care field.
During his keynote presentation, Lawry will share insights into AI-driven diagnostics and corresponding strategies for personalized treatment planning. Addressing the heart of AI implementation, Lawry will also share practical tips for practice management optimization backed by real-world case studies and success stories.

Lawry is currently the Managing Director of Second Century Tech. He was named one of the most recognized leaders driving change and engagement in healthcare today as well as Top 20 AI Voices to Watch in 2023.
While at Microsoft, he also served as Director of Worldwide Health and Director of Organizational Performance for the company’s first health incubator. Prior to Microsoft, Tom was a Senior Director at GE Healthcare and the founder of two venture-backed healthcare software companies.
