Man Alleges LensCrafters Refused to Provide His Prescription Information

His lawsuit seeks class-action certification and treble damages.

Blane Friest of New Jersey is suing LensCrafters claiming that the company wouldn’t provide his eyeglasses prescription info, Legal Newsline reports. Citing the complaint filed in the U.S. Superior Court of New Jersey, the article says that in July of 2015, the plaintiff contacted LensCrafters to ask about the pupillary distance used in the glasses he bought, but the defendant allegedly refused to provide the information – “despite knowing about the regulation from the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs stating that consumers have the right to obtain vital information such as the pupillary distance from licensed ophthalmic dispensers.” The plaintiff is seeking certification of the putative class, as well as compensatory and treble damages.
