An optical shop in Toronto suffered heavy damage during a break-in that involved a van backing into the front entrance.

The crime happened at about 6:20 a.m. on Dec. 14 at Clear Vision Optical and Eyecare Boutique, blogTO reports.

The van smashed through on the second try, making its way through a metal security gate. Scroll down to see security footage of the incident.

“He had to have been heavy footed it in order to get through that gate because it ended up tearing the entire front structure of our store completely off,” said Adrian Chalifoux, manager of the store.

Three men then took about 95 percent of the store’s merchandise, according to blogTO, which described the shop as being “completely destroyed.” Repairs are expected to take weeks or months to complete.

Police are still investigating the crime.
