ALPHARETTA, GA – Dr. Richard Griffin, who pioneered the NaturalVue multifocal one-day contact lenses from Visioneering Technologies Inc., has been honored with an Outstanding Alumnus Award by the University of Florida. He will be recognized at an awards banquet on Thursday, April 7.
“We greatly appreciate your success over the years and are very proud to count you among our Gator engineers,” says David Hahn, professor and department chair of mechanical and aerospace engineering. “You are certainly most deserving of this recognition. This is the highest honor that the department bestows on our alumni, and is well deserved in my opinion.”
Dr. Griffin started his career as an aerospace engineer before becoming an optometrist and optical engineer. He has spent 20 years developing VTI’s optical solutions and designs.
