(PRESS RELEASE) PORTLAND, OR — PECAA, a nationwide Doctor Alliance Group for independent eyecare professionals, announced in March that through its Growing Through Giving Program, $116,000 had been raised in 2018 for the organization’s charity of choice, Optometry Giving Sight.

“Growing Through Giving harnesses the charitable giving power of PECAA’s 3,500+ member doctors to raise funds for children’s vision projects,” said Sara Campbell, membership manager, PECAA. “The program also provides practices with a simple and effective method to grow their businesses through cause-related marketing and branding.”

Participating PECAA members receive a free comprehensive digital and physical marketing toolkit which includes posters, mirror clings, website content, social media posts, digital banners and press releases.

The Growing Through Giving Program is funded through a combination of member support and matching contributions from PECAA corporate as well as Carl Zeiss Vision.

“For over 120 years, ZEISS has been a 100% foundation-owned company that reinvests profits back into optical science, research and education, but also social & environmental causes,” said Andrew Hyncik, vice president of marketing, ZEISS Vision USA. “Supporting disadvantaged communities is at the heart of ZEISS’ culture and heritage. As such, we are extremely proud of and grateful for our ongoing collaboration with PECAA members and Optometry Giving Sight. Our combined contributions are making a difference in the world by giving and protecting vision for thousands of people in underserved communities who do not have access to eye care services.”
