(PRESS RELEASE) SCOTTSDALE, AZ – GSRx, Inc. has announced that ProperOptics.com, the lens supplier’s e-commerce site that supports its independent practice partners, now includes a virtual try-on feature.

ProperOptics.com provides independent practices with an online presence to capture more optical sales in their local market. It offers an additional opportunity for practices to sell to patients who leave the office without buying eyewear, and to other online shoppers in their area. Practices make the same profit as they would from an in-office sale of Proper Optics complete eyewear, minus a $5.00 processing fee.

“To create the best online optical experience, you need virtual try-on,” said David Jochims, GSRx’s founder and CEO. “The addition of this feature will make our independent partners more competitive in the online optical market.”

By uploading a photo, consumers visiting the site will be able to try on 160-plus Proper Optics frames. The feature is easy to use and is compatible with most smartphones.

ProperOptics.com now also features epik Blue, GSRx’s industry leading in-mass blue light filter. epik Blue is a blue light-absorptive lens material (not a coating), that reduces blue light by 60% in the hazard range of 380-450nm, and 90% from 380-420nm. Unlike many other in-mass blue light products, epik Blue is virtually indistinguishable from a standard clear lens.

ProperOptics.com offers traditional single vision lenses in plastic, polycarbonate, Trivex, 1.6 and 1.67. (Progressives are not currently available on line. epik progressive lenses from GSRx are only available in-office from independent eye care practices, to ensure proper fitting and performance.) In addition to epik Blue, available lens treatments include INFINITY NON-GLARE and Prevablue coatings, polarization and Transitions. Patients can chose home delivery or pickup at the practice. Participating practices offer adjustments free of charge.
