As the profession’s premier annual event, Optometry’s Meeting aligns doctors, paraoptometrics and office staff, optometry students and industry professionals across four days of progressive continuing education (CE) and professional development alongside impactful networking and career-building, an expansive exhibit hall with business solutions and practices resources, as well as leadership opportunities to advance optometry.

Expert-Led Continuing Education

Optometry’s Meeting provides leading-edge CE and professional development that includes over 250 hours of education available for doctors, paraoptometrics and optometry students. A robust schedule that consists of hands-on workshops, integrated education, peer-to-peer forums and more, Optometry’s Meeting delivers education that supports every member of the care team.

“Each year, Optometry’s Meeting strives to deliver education that’s well-rounded and on-trend to ensure attendees feel they have a tight grip on what’s to come. We’re proud to share that this year will boast the most diverse speaker pool since the AOA’s implementation of an updated review process in 2020. Not only is this a testament to the strength of our industry, but also to the community it requires to truly advance eye and vision care for our patients,” said Dr. Randall Kempfer, Co-Chair of the Education Center Committee.

Doctors can earn up to 36 credits and paraoptometrics can earn up to 32 credits across four days with industry-recognized speakers on a range of contemporary topics, including in-office surgical procedures, billing and coding, systemic disease, functional vision, practice management and more.

Advancing Our Profession: 127th Annual AOA Congress & 56th Annual AOSA Conference

Optometry’s Meeting also convenes the profession’s preeminent assembly of leaders and decision-makers during the House of Delegates. Here, the AOA and affiliates will discuss the latest in optometry and essential governance updates, the most up-to-date news from the AOA Board of Trustees and the presentation of annual awards. All members are invited to attend each session, including the election and installation of the AOA Board of Trustees on Saturday, June 22.

Special Events at Optometry’s Meeting

Optometry’s Meeting delivers a renowned conference experience that goes beyond the lecture hall and workshops with all new special events—and some returning favorites, too.

Join friends and colleagues at the AOA Experience: Opening Session on Wednesday, June 19, for the official meeting kickoff with an inspirational keynote speaker, and keep the energy going into the Eye Care Square reception immediately following. Opening on an all-new day and time, the Eye Care Square exhibit hall offers the latest industry products, services and resources, as well as an industry networking opportunity.

Then, come tip your hats and cheers to another Optometry’s Meeting as attendees close out the conference with a boot-scootin’ good time during the Celebration of Optometry on Friday, June 21. Enjoy the fun, honky-tonk atmosphere in Nashville but don’t forget to partake a full education schedule on Saturday, too.
