Renowned Creative and Product Leader Nico Roseillier Departs Europa/State/AO

Decision will allow Nico to explore new ventures in his creative journey.

(PRESS RELEASE) CHICAGO, IL — After an illustrious five-year tenure at Europa, (both incorporating State and American Optical) Nico Roseillier, an established visionary behind numerous eyewear, sunwear and accessory accomplishments, bids farewell to Europa/State/AO. The decision of this departure allows Nico to explore new ventures in his creative journey.

Roseillier has already delivered an indelible mark on the optical arena. Some of his impressive achievements the last few years include being honored with two Accessories Council Awards, 1 for his collaboration with 3 times Grammy Award winner Maxwell and 1 for his design with American Optical, also awarded recognition for the best booth activations at Vision Expo, and impacts of his designs through multiple successful collections.

Notably, Nico spearheaded the design and launch of the highly anticipated American Optical collection as well as successfully revitalizing the marketing and branding efforts for State Optical and across all collections under the Europa realm.

Roseillier’s unwavering creative vision will continue to flourish with the establishment of his own creative agency, UN-TI-TLED. Through this venture, he will extend the same energized direction and wisdom he exhibited in the noted previous roles.

UN-TI-TLED will engage in diverse creative pursuits ranging from product design to signature photography, such as the groundbreaking American Optical desert-roadtrip campaign. Additionally, Nico will curate immersive experiential show installations, best exemplified by his AO satellite museum in collaboration with the Optical Heritage Museum.

Reflecting on this exciting new chapter in his career Roseillier states, “I am eager to finally explore my full potential through collaboration with companies and individuals who actually dare to think forward and outside the box, taking calculated risks to drive the industry towards new horizons. Simultaneously, I look forward to expanding my capacity for partnership with companies of all sizes, fostering growth and innovation.”

About Nico Roseillier

Nico Roseillier is a highly accomplished creative and product leader with a distinguished track record in the eyewear and accessory industry. His creative journey began with studying architecture and industrial design in Paris, France, before moving to NYC in 2001 with $400 in his pocket and 2 suitcases. After exploring his creative side for a few years, he became the creative director at MODO for four years before joining the REM team in California for nine years and then DeRigo for two years. Leveraging his experience in licensing design of over 15 years he spread his creative expertise to independent brands at Europa for State, Scott Harris, American Optical and other initiatives in their portfolio. Within these past two years, Nico created and spearheaded the NOW by Vision Expo, the first eyewear trend and design pavilion in the US and delivered the inaugural NOW Awards for the recent Vision Expo East in NYC.

With the launch of his creative agency, UN-TI-TLED, Nico aims to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity while collaborating with industry partners to drive forward-thinking change.
