Consumer Habits and Preferences
The Vision Council has released its Consumer InSights Q2 2023 report which surveyed over 15,000 adults in the US aged 18 or older in the second quarter of 2023. The report finds that vision correction remains a key health concern for many Americans, with 93% of respondents utilizing some form of eyewear. Additional findings include 67% of respondents use Rx eyewear; and two of every three respondents reported some type of managed vision care coverage. Multilingual Myopia Management
As part of efforts to advance the acceptance of myopia control and management as standard of care and provide global access, the newly published World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus (WSPOS) Myopia Consensus Statement 2023 is now available in multiple languages thanks to support from CooperVision. The statement — which is now available in Portuguese, Spanish and French, in addition to English — concludes that there is “sufficient evidence to warrant the adoption of myopia prevention and control measures in clinical practice in children with progressive myopia.” Additional language translations including Arabic, Indonesian and Ukrainian are to come. wspos.org
