A hacking attack at Central Vermont Eye Care affected records for up to 30,000 patients.

The practice reported the incident in an April 6 notice, JD Supra reports.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights was made aware of the breach.

Located in Rutland, VT, Central Vermont Eye Care provides ophthalmologic and optometric care, according to its website. It reportedly employees about 25 people.

Console and Associates, a law firm, is investigating the breach, according to JD Supra.

Further details about the breach have not been disclosed.
