VSP Global Names Chief Provider Relations Officer

She’ll lead the new Provider Solutions division.

(Press Release) RANCHO CORDOVA, CA — VSP Global announced that Michelle Skinner has been promoted to senior vice president and chief provider relations officer. In this role, Skinner will lead the company’s newly formed doctor-focused division, Provider Solutions, which falls under VSP Global’s Omni-Channel Solutions line of business. Skinner will report directly to the interim CEO.INVISION VSP

Provider Solutions will centralize many provider-facing functions, programs and communications under one umbrella to help better align the doctor experience. Additionally, it will manage and further enhance the VSP Global Premier Program, which connects more VSP patients with VSP network doctors and supports the growth of today’s independent optometrist.

“Under Michelle’s leadership, we have the opportunity to better serve and provide more opportunities to the doctors who power the VSP network,” said Rob Lynch, VSP Global board member and interim CEO. “Michelle’s deep institutional knowledge, expertise and experience will be leveraged in this new role. She is the perfect person to lead our doctor-focused division.”

Skinner has more than 20 years of experience in the optical industry, and a long career at VSP which began in 1994 when she joined Altair Eyewear, a VSP Global company. She went on to work for Marchon Eyewear, then helped develop VSP Global’s Premier Program, and later launched VSP’s Global Business Development division. Skinner most recently served as senior vice president of VSP Global Omni-Channel Solutions. Skinner has been honored twice as one of Vision Monday’s “Most Influential Women in the Optical Industry.”

Skinner is married with two children and resides in Sacramento, CA. In her free time, she is an avid long-distance runner.
