The software company Intuit is once again offering to foot the bill for a small-business television commercial to run on the Super Bowl. “The contest begins on June 1,” reports Associated Press. “Companies are to submit stories about their businesses and why they should be showcased during the most widely viewed television event of the year. The submissions are then voted on by the public and Intuit employees.” The California toy maker that won the competition last year enjoyed a predictable spike in sales. “Within the first 15 seconds, we had tens of thousands of people visiting the website,” said a company exec.
