KINGWOOD, TX – Independent optometric alliance Vision Source announced that it is collaborating with UCHealth Eye Center to provide greater access to enhanced vision care services for 35,000 patients. The Vision Source clinicians currently include 45 optometrists in 22 locations across the Denver metro area.

“On behalf of Vision Source, we are grateful for the opportunity to work with the UCHealth Eye Center and look forward to providing patients with the highest degree of satisfaction, access to advanced surgeries and excellent outcomes,” says Vision Source President and CEO Jim Greenwood. “This relationship will allow us to deliver quality primary eye services and innovative solutions for the detection and treatment of eye diseases as well as hypertension, diabetes, cancer and other health conditions.”

Specialists at the UCHealth Eye Center offer patients treatments and surgeries for complex eye diseases and also conduct vision-related research. University of Colorado School of Medicine ophthalmology researchers have been awarded numerous patents for their development of new therapies and technologies.

“You don’t understand the value of eyesight until you’re losing it or have lost it,” says Dr. Naresh Mandava, medical director of the UCHealth Eye Center and chair of the department of ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. “The UCHealth Eye Center is excited to team up with Vision Source to offer our advanced care to their patients throughout the Rocky Mountain region.”

Through the partnership, Vision Source providers and their 22 locations will offer routine eye exams, glasses and contacts for many of UCHealth’s patients.

“The primary care physicians at UCHealth locations regularly care for patients with conditions like diabetes that can cause vision problems. We are now able to provide those patients with another convenient option for routine eye exams,” says Dr. Colleen Conry, senior vice-chair for quality and clinical affairs at University of Colorado School of Medicine and primary care physician.

Vision Source has established relationships with other integrated health systems across the country, including Dignity Health, Minuteman Health, Privia Health, Baptist Health South Florida and Memorial Hermann. For a complete list of these affiliates, visit visionsource.com.
