(PRESS RELEASE) RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – As part of its commitment to providing security and privacy of health data processing for eye care providers, Eyefinity, a VSP Global company and leader in practice management and electronic health records software, announced it has once again achieved accreditation for the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). The accreditation program recognizes excellence in health data processing and ensures compliance with industry established standards and HIPAA regulations

Eyefinity has been EHNAC accredited since 2004 and received 98 percent on the 2020 EHNAC accreditation audit. Through EHNAC’s comprehensive third-party review, Eyefinity was evaluated in areas of privacy measures, systems availability and security infrastructure. In addition, EHNAC reviewed the organization’s process of managing and transferring protected health information and determined that the organization meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards.

“Data protection and security remain top of mind for Eyefinity when it comes to supporting doctors in the patient care journey,” said Charlie Biegel, vice president and chief operating officer for Eyefinity. “This accreditation is part of Eyefinity’s ongoing commitment to cyber security and ensuring customers trust in our ability to manage and protect personal health information and reliably process transactions.”

“As regulatory concerns continue to be front and center on the minds of healthcare leadership, a company’s decision to take the necessary steps to ensure trust within its stakeholders and customers that they’re adhering to the latest standards in privacy, security and confidentiality is an important accomplishment in today’s healthcare ecosystem,” said Lee Barrett, executive director and CEO of EHNAC. “An electronic health network’s attaining of Healthcare Network Accreditation requires that they demonstrate a full commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of health data processing and transactions for their customers. This accomplishment provides a ‘seal of approval’ indicating Eyefinity exceeds industry-established standards and complies with HIPAA regulations.”

Eyefinity’s EHNAC accreditation is effective now and approved through 2022.
