Smash-and-grab thieves have hit six optical stores in the Washington, DC, area in recent weeks.

In each case, the culprits entered while the store was open, the Washington Post reports. They did not use weapons, apart from hammers.

It’s unclear whether the crimes are connected. No injuries have been reported.

The thieves have targeted designer frames, including brands such as Cartier and Gucci.

Eye See Optique in Arlington was hit at about 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 11. Owner Waheed Abbasi said five men entered the store and took $60,000 worth of goods. (Scroll down to see video from the incident).
