“I feel like my customers are family. I focus on their eyewear needs, but it’s hard not to become part of their story. That’s part of my job that never gets old. I love it.” So says Julie Uram, she of the optical shop with the sand on the floor. In fact, that’s one of her favorite things: she can run her shop how she wants to. She also loves that she can come and go as she pleases. “My hours are 10am-ish to 5:30pm-ish. Haha!” Her last favorite thing is also her least. “I am the only one here, so I get to help everyone!” But when it’s slow … “It’s only me.” And then how does she unwind from a stressful day? “Wine of course!”
