Thieves made off with $40,000 in eyewear from a San Francisco optical shop.

The crime happened shortly before noon Monday at Veo Optics, KPIX-TV reports.

One employee was reportedly pepper sprayed in the face during the robbery, which involved two suspects.

The owner of the business, James Peo, said his two stores have been hit by robbers more than once recently.

“In just the last two weeks alone we’ve had over $56,000 stolen from us,” he told KTVU-TV.

Jesse Pascoe, nephew of the owner, told KPIX: “This is hurting us, it’s draining us, the emotional, financial strain, it’s unbearable.”
